Review: Sebamed Clear Face Starter Pack

Scribbled by Mint Chocolate Chip at 5:13 PM 0 comments
i'm in my third trimester of pregnancy, and last few months, acne, pimples and all kinds of spots mushrooming all over my face..it was terrible..and adding salt to the wound, my HG cleanser, from the St. Ives, ran out and i couldn't find it in any drugstore and pharmacy..
where are you??

then, i have no other choice but to try other brand and i bought myself a set of a Korean Skin Care, named Tab, which include a soap, essence and serum which cost me RM250..BUT, after 2 weeks of using it, my face got worst, i even get a lot of whiteheads..grr..i saw a lot of good review from the ppl using it, but maybe im not one of them, and maybe bcoz im pregnant..my hormones goes haywire and resulting in  terrible spots on my face..
i was hopeless and went straight away to get myself a bottle of Dalacin T, even though i have stopped using it since im pregnant, but i need to clear my face, it helps to control it, but not fully, my face gets oilier than usual..so, i did few research, and went to Watson to look for the Eucerin and Cetaphil cleanser..
but, i couldn't find both of it in the Watson that i went (it was at the Jalan Pegawai, Alor Setar)..uwaaa..then my mom saw this Sebamed Clear Face Starter Pack..she told me to give it a try since it only cost RM25.90..she even told me to get the cleansing bar from the same range, Clear Face..she used it before on my little sister when she had bad rashes all over her body and face and it worked wonderfully..
thus, i give the starter pack a try..and today is my 2nd week of using it..

here's my verdict of all the products in the starter pack plus the cleansing bar that i bought separately:

Clear Face Cleansing Bar RM12++ for 100g
what it claims to be: The effective bar for pimples: soap-free cleansing bar for blemished skin tending towards acne

 - i cut it into 3 pieces for the usage in 3 different places..(langkawi: where i work, penang: my husband's house and another one for always on the go jz in case i go to my parents' or in laws')..the bar doesn't lather much, due to its soap free i guess, so i rubbed my face with the bar itself..hehe..it's very moisturizing i must say.. it leaves my skin silky smooth..and it doesn't dry out my skin and i don't have this tight feeling that i used to get whenever i use soap on my face before..i must say, after few days of using it, my pimples dries out significantly and my face gets less oily but not drying..my blackheads are less visible too..i wash my face using this bar almost 3-4 times a day, everytime i go to bath and sometimes before i pray..

this is how the starter kit looks like

the starter kit (RM25.90) contains 3 things:

1. Cleansing Liquid (or foam as how it appears to be) 50ml
what it claims to be: Intensive, antibacterial and gentle skin cleansing with an anti-pimple effect and intensive care effect with a pH value of 5.5

   - there's a leaflet in the box on steps of using it and in the steps, it includes the Cleansing Bar as well..yay for that since i already have it..the first step is to use the bar to wash your face..after that, use this cleanser and leave it for 5 minutes before rinse it off..since i dont have 5 minutes everytime i go to bath (i usually bath more than 3 times a day, it's very hot these days), i only use this cleanser once or twice a day, usually after work or before bed or both..but ALWAYS after taking out my makeup (i  always use cleansing oil to take off my makeup before washing my face with the cleansing bar and this cleanser)..u need to rinse your face for few times after using this cleanser to clean all the residue..u might feel that it leaves some film on your face if u just rinse it for one time..it happens to me, but it doesn't bother me much since i can always get rid of it using the toner.. :D
what i like about this cleanser is that i think it really helps in drying out my pimples and acne faster (with the combination of the bar)..it makes my face look much much better than 3 months ago, less redness and absolutely less blackhead and whitehead, since it claims to improve complexion as well..definitely worth trying..

2. Deep Cleansing Facial Toner 50ml
what it claims to be: Pore-deep skin cleansing with an anti-pimple effect and intensive care effect with a pH value of 5.5

       - frankly said, i'm not a toner person, i rarely use toner before, previously i only use the Hada Labo moisturizing lotion after i wash my face..for me it acts as both toner and moisturizer..then after finish it off, i didn't get a new bottle since it took out some of my time before applying makeup..it was a good lotion, really..it didn't break me out nor make my face oilier than usual..now when i think of it, it did give my face a smooth to touch kinda feeling, i guess im too lazy to apply and to wait for it to dry out before putting my makeup on, that's why i stop using it..anyway, back to the toner review, i notice that after using it, i feel that my face is squeaky clean and kinda make my pores tighten a bit..it feels a bit sticky after using it but not very disturbing..i feel like my skin is firmer, and it doesn't sting on me..i cant comment much on this toner since i'm not a toner kind of person, and i do not know on how to categorize it, whether it falls in the good group or not..all i can say, it does a good  job on me, and i'll continue using it as part of the routine since using all of the products in this range improves my skin condition..

3. Care Gel 10g
what it claims: The moisturizing gel against pimples, blackheads and blemishes with a pH value of 5.5

      - i'm also not a moisturizer kind of person but i love this gel a lot! it is a clear gel which is free from oil and emulsifiers..it really controls the oil on my face..since it's in a gel form, u can expect it to be sticky at first when u apply it, but soon the stickiness will diminish and your make up will glide smoothly..it is meant to prevent future breakouts and it works! so far, i do not encounter additional breakout, yet..usually, one or two new pimples will pop out every single day without fail..even though i did apply Dalacin T on my face every night..*sigh*
this gel is the third moisturizer that i've ever used, the first one is the Hada Labo and second is the Anti - Imperfection range from Vichy..i also like both of the moisturizer that i used previously actually and i already told u why i stopped using Hada Labo, and the reason i stopped using the one from Vichy is because the selling of the product has been discontinued in Malaysia..but, never mind, i got myself a better replacement from Sebamed! *grin*

Conclusion:
- i love this range from Sebamed and will continue using it for as long as they're still selling...i really wish that i've found it earlier..take note that it doesn't do its work overnight, but the waiting period is worth while ( a week for me)..
in terms of price, i think it's affordable, for the full size, all 4 items cost me less than a hundred (oh yes, i did get myself the full size already, :p) and i think it will last up to 2-3 months..as for the cleansing bar, i also use it on my body as well and it really helps in clearing up my rashes that i have on my back..my face gets a lot less oily and my acne scars seem to be less visible..i'm really satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone with oily acne-prone skin, like me..

Rating: 9.5/10       (the deducted 0.5 is due to the 5 minutes wait before rinsing off the
cleanser and the stickiness feeling for the toner and gel)

Elianto Waterproof Loose Powder

Scribbled by Mint Chocolate Chip at 6:22 PM 0 comments
well, i told u that i will review about this loose powder that i bought from Elianto, right..so, here's my verdict:

1. packaging wise, it's almost the same as most loose powder out there, so, no complain there..i'm fine with it..

here's the picture of it from above.

the description of it and its ingredients list (click on the picture for a clearer view)..i really dunno much on how to comment about it since i'm no beautician or dermatologist, but it contains fragrance which i'm fine with it, but i know one of my friends is allergic with it, so she certainly cannot put this powder on her face..
the sponge provided is just moderate, u can stash it and use a brush for a better application...however for a lazy butt like me, i'm okay with the sponge since it's soft..

the texture is finely milled and silky..i like it..however, careful not to put too much because it tends to get cakey..
in terms of oil control, it's not that great..it only lasted for two hours or so on my face..after that i need to reapply..but, it does its job in absorbing sweat..

all in all, i'll give it 6/10..the extra point is mainly because it's made in korea..hee..i may not reconsider buying it since my aim of using loose powder is to make my face looks matte for at least 5 hours..afraid not, i will try using it again with a liquid foundation..last time, i used a cream foundation which i know it's not really suitable for oily skin like mine..maybe that's why my face tends to get oily at a very fast rate..but since my liquid foundation had finished, i have no choice..

that's all for now.peace. :-)

because Elianto is having sales.

Scribbled by Mint Chocolate Chip at 1:02 AM 1 comments
i really did not intend to buy any makeup for the time being because i think i have enough makeup, in fact, excessive!..but, last few days, i went to tesco to buy some fruits and veggies..on my way to the tesco hypermarket, i glanced over the elianto booth near the escalator..the word "Sales" caught my eyes, and the number "70%" made me stop walking and headed straight to their booth..dang! haha..
as i was browsing through all the sales items, the sales girl approached me and led me to the 70% items..i saw a gorgeous lip gloss and picked it up straight away since after less it only cost around rm8.40, and u know what, i really love it! it has a lip stain on one side and a gloss on the other, u have to put on the lip stain first, then apply the gloss on top and wallah! u'll have a reddish stain like lips ,red with the hint of orange hues, super gorgeous..here's the picture of the gloss and how it looks on lips:

i bought the one in the middle, named Giggly..

then i saw their loose powder and a word "waterproof" stated there..i tried the sample on my hand and i would say that the powder is finely milled and soft on skin..i grabbed one of it..eventhough it's not a discounted item, at rm18, it's darn cheap for a waterproof loose powder..haven't tried it yet, will update later..

then lastly i bought an eyeliner in greenish gold colour named martini..i like how it feels on my eyes, smooth and neat..up until now, i really do not know why i bought that colour..i think i bought it since i already have black and silver, and there were only purple and martini left on the shelf, i took it straightaway..bila nk pakai pn tatau..what a waste..haih..sepbaik rm5..but still, with rm5, i can eat till i'm full..haish..

1. glycolic RM 2.50
2. licorice RM2.50
3. arbutin RM2.50
4. gluta w rose hip RM 3.00
5. cucumber & lemon RM 2.50
6. Gluta w/ papaya RM2.50

nah, at first nk try 3 samples ja, then seller ckp ada promotion buy 6 samples free 1 sample, aku pn apa lg, tmbh la lg 4..hehe..i bought 3 soaps for whitening (no.2,3 &6), for my sunburned arms, then 3 soaps for my face (no.1, 4 & 5) to lighten my scars and tighten pores and another 1 soap for moisturizing which is the free sample, placenta..i planned to use that one for my heels and elbows..

btw, i've tried the Cyleina soaps b4 but i didn't buy from this seller and they're very good..i'd tried the rice bran, black pearl, tomato and grapeseed..it does what it promises, but as i said earlier my aim is to have a flawless skin, so i keep on trying new products..haha..

back to the soaps that i'd bought, i've tried glycolic, arbutin, gluta w rose hip, and cucumber & lemon..among the four, i like arbutin and gluta w rose hip the most for my face..my face feels so clean but not drying..i love the way they make my face glows and radiants..i THINK my acne scars and marks have lessen a little bit, or not..but i did notice some improvement if it's not it..glycolic and cucumber & lemon did nothing to my face, but they work great for my body..love it!

so, for organic lovers, go check it out...they might do good for your skin too :-)

my newly bought product review

Scribbled by Mint Chocolate Chip at 3:08 AM 1 comments

i got my practicum allowance recently which i thought that i might never gonna get it but thank God, i got it and already finished spending half of it, yeah, the normal me..the allowance, it's not much, but it really means the world to me and to people whom only have less than rm10 in their bank account..bear in mind, im still jobless,ok...
so, since i have some money, i bought a new product for my oily-combination-acne prone skin, not a very good "combination" i have there, i know, huu...to cut it short, i found a forum where people were raving about the miracle mask that had done wonders to their acne prone skin as well as their scars, so i searched for more reviews...most reviews were encouraging thus made me so tempting to try.. then i came across the product's official website...after thinking it through, i decided to buy the package 2 while crossing my fingers hoping that it will work on me..fuh..

after 2 days, i received the parcel..and i was shocked! why? because i really didn't expect that the cleanser was not a fluid form..yea, u heard me right..no, not even in gel like, it's in powder form..yes, a POWDER cleanser..ok, may be i'm acting a bit jakun here, but seriously, i had never seen a face cleanser in powder, ever!..haha..i was quite skeptical to try it at first, but i started to like it..even though it smells so organic which some people might not like it, but it's fine with me..and the thing that i love most about it was, it really makes my face less oily, yay for that! and i think it also made my giant pores shrank a little bit..phew, can u imagine what a relief i must have felt at that time that i didn't just throw my money away for some useless junk..haha!

later at night, i tried the miracle mask...well i must say, there's not much of a miracle about it..but, it did make my skin look much better, my giant pores had shrunken, my pimples kinda stop growing, my face seemed brighter, and that's all for now...i can clearly smelled the cinnamon in it..which i knew it's good for scars...but, i can't say yet whether this mask can really help in lightening my scars *as they promoted* because i've been using it for less than a week...

all in all, i'm quite satisfied with this Ninety Nine Face product..now i'm using it along with my St. Ives Apricot Face Wash...and i have also stopped using Dalacin T (great remedy for acne prone skin) for a while because i wanna give the new products a try..

are replaced with these

im such a sucker and gullible for cosmetics that promise great results..i know some promises are given just to sell the products..but, well, it works on me, yup, it does sometimes..especially when it's not that expensive...haha..kalo mahal mcm SKII, Chanel and all, i would think very thoroughly before proceed with buying..but if it costs me less than rm100, my senses kinda lost me there...hadoi...Tuhan dh ckp, nafsu perempuan tu ada 9..and these cosmetics thingy is among the nine's..*sigh*

My verdict:
1. ninety nine face cleanser (7/10)
pros: makes your face less oily for quite sometime, brighten your complexion, shrink your pores, 4 in 1 functions (cleanser, moisturiser, toner, exfoliator), makes your skin feel so clean
cons: the smell (for some people) and for the people who hate waiting *u have to wait for few minutes before rinse it off*

2. miracle mask (6/10)
pros: left skin feeling smooth, doesn't dry out your skin, clean and shrink pores, give your face some radiance, stop pimples from growing, can be used on your body as well
cons: not for a lazy bum people because you have to mix it yourself (it's a DIY kinda mask), not for those whom are allergic to cinnamon.

okay, that's it people..thanks for wasting your time reading my ramblings..

Love Happens

Scribbled by Mint Chocolate Chip at 11:08 PM 1 comments
okay, the movie "Love Happens" was a bit bored for me..too draggy..it was touching, but im kinda confused because couldn't see the relation of the storyline to the title of the movie..i feel as if it was out of focus..i don't know, u should see it for yourself..maybe i was too dumb to appreciate the underlying meaning..hehe..i prefer a straightforward-funny-romantic kind of film..

Weather girl - awesome!

Scribbled by Mint Chocolate Chip at 1:48 PM 0 comments
last night, i watched this ""weather girl" movie..the story line is simple, but it was hilarious, okey! it's recommended by me...well, the main attraction in the movie, for a girl of course, is the guy, named Byron..he's not so damn handsome, he's not rich, he's nobody..but, he is sooo adorable..i don't know bout everyone else, but for me, the face of a man who-really-like-a-girl-but-pretending-he-has-no-feeling-for-her is super duper charming and cute!!! you can see that he really likes the girl, the genuine face, the passion that he tries to hide, it was so real, and i really pity him when the girl said he's not good enough..phew, what a good actor..i really fall for that..
next, i wanna watch the movie 'Love Happens'..i hope it will be fun.
